Appleton Circle enjoys summer evening in a private garden
July 7, 2012
Members of Historic New England's Appleton Circle enjoyed a beautiful summer evening at a private house and garden in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Guests were treated to cocktails in the expansive garden oasis among the flowers and trees in full bloom, secluded from the busy Cambridge neighborhood. The hosts shared with the guests the design concept and planning of the house and landscape, which lie in a lot originally drawn for more than twenty row houses.
This private reception and garden tour are one of many benefits of Appleton Circle membership. In addition to accessing New England art and history through behind-the-scenes tours, lectures, and invitations to the homes and gardens of private collectors, Appleton Circle members help further Historic New England’s commitment to preserve the region’s rich cultural heritage and share it with the public.
