Announcing new membership category for design enthusiasts

Octagon Room

Historic New England is pleased to announce the launch of the Ogden Codman Design Group, a new level of membership that enables design professionals and enthusiasts to experience the works and private homes of some of our nation's greatest design talents.

Historic New England offers vast resources of objects and properties related to such pioneering names as Ogden Codman, Jr., Henry Davis Sleeper, and Walter Gropius. The Ogden Codman Design Group is named after the noted early twentieth-century architect and interior designer Ogden Codman, Jr. He co-authored The Decoration of Houses with Edith Wharton, a book that revolutionized American interior design in the late nineteenth century. Members will have the opportunity to network and socialize with other design professionals at receptions, behind-the-scenes tours, and design-focused programs at such properties as the Codman Estate, Gropius House, and Beauport, Sleeper-McCann House
