Twilight Concert at Roseland Cottage
On August 13, a perfect summer evening in Woodstock, Connecticut, Roseland Cottage hosted the Little Big Band for an evening performance.
More than 250 people turned out to hear the dynamic fifteen-piece swing band. Their outdoor performance on the grounds of Roseland Cottage created a great atmosphere for a picnic dinner, a stroll through the garden, and even a little dancing. The concert was free and open to the public, part of an annual Twilight Concert series co-sponsored by Roseland Cottage and the Woodstock Recreation Commission. The final concert in the series is scheduled for Friday, August 27, and will feature the Wade Elliott Band, a local band that plays a mixture of American folk and acoustic-driven rock and blues.
For the first time this year, Roseland Cottage is open for first-floor guided tours an hour before twilight concert performances. Tour admission is free for Historic New England members and Woodstock residents.
