New Community Preservation Manager, Western New England
MIDDLEBURY, VERMONT– Historic New England is pleased to announce that Charlotte Barrett was hired as Community Preservation Manager, Western New England.
Barrett’s office is at the Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History in Middlebury. “I’m excited about this opportunity to develop a presence for Historic New England in Vermont, as well as to serve as the alliance liaison with the Henry Sheldon Museum,” says Barrett. “I couldn’t ask for a more perfect marriage of my background in historic preservation and museum studies. Having lived and worked in northern New England for thirty years, I have deep roots in and a passion for working with the communities of Vermont to preserve their past and share the stories that continue to inform the present. I’m eager to form partnerships with the many organizations already doing good work in Vermont.”
Barrett graduated from the University of Vermont with an M.S. in historic preservation. She was formerly a director and consultant for the Preservation Education Institute in Windsor, Vermont, and a field representative for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
